Course Description:
Awake the inventor in your child!
Scratch, developed by MIT, is the gold standard for learning to code creatively. This software helps develop computational thinking skills while removing barriers to self-expression through program design. Without intimidating grammar or syntax, children can focus on solving problems and building projects that are more fun than work. These skills will then be transferred to Makey Makey and they will improve their thinking and creativity with exploratory projects. Children will be amazed at what they can achieve by turning their curiosity and imaginations into actions. The key to success is learning by doing, experimenting, dreaming, being curious, and brave. Provide a pathway to a lifelong journey of creative coding and design for your children!
Continue with the Micro:bit, a credit card-sized device your children can hold in their hand, combine that with the power of code, and now they have an incredible STEM starting point. As they hone their visual programming skills, they’ll also be able to see and tweak their code in Python. In addition to unlocking knowledge and unleashing your child’s inner engineer, they make fun projects and explore the world of science and engineering.
Content:
- Use the Makey-Makey to create games
